Kith and Kynn 2: Immortal Beloved is a dark paranormal romance with a different spin on vampire legends. This engaging, complex story can be read on it’s own but it may have a more satisfying impact if you understand background that was introduced in the first book. It’s a compelling plot of a man who thought he'd been absolutely justified in his violent actions, a man who had lost everything because of those beliefs, who comes to realize he’d been wrong. Adrien Roth is a tortured hero set on a quest for revenge. But when he rescues Cassie Wilson he is distracted from his single-minded course of death and destruction for the first time in years. Cassie is a strong heroine who is his perfect match. There are explicit scenes throughout the book that include violence and torture, sexual situations sometimes have a violent edge, oral sex, blood drinking, masturbation and light bondage. This is an inventive story showing facets of lust, fanaticism and how love conquers all. Paranormal fans will most likely enjoy this different spin on vampire favorites. Certainly readers who were waiting for the second book in Ms. Jenson’s series will not be disappointed.
