| Maya Black is an ex-cop who was turned into a vampire one horrific night. Since that time, she has kept on hunting evil doers and now she has the strength and power to take down supernatural foes. When Adam Brody comes to ask for her help, Maya˘s first impulse is to refuse. However, when he explains he wants to rescue his niece from a master vampire, Maya reconsiders. Maya and Adam make an uneasy alliance, based on need not trust. They will find they share a common purpose as well as an undeniable passionate attraction.
Immortal Danger is an excellent action-packed paranormal romance that was very hard to put down once I got into it. I enjoyed the suspense, particularly how the author revealed bits of Maya˘s history gradually and the way we know that Adam is different but not exactly how or why he is supernatural. The anticipation builds as they work together to find Adam˘s niece and learn respect for each other. There is also a simmering thread of sexual chemistry to stir things up. Their first sexual encounter is steamy and their encounters just keep getting hotter. The language is explicit and certainly, the sex is erotic, but the author also blends sensuality and emotion into the sex scenes. Adam and Maya˘s sensuality deepens as their romance progresses. There are different paranormal beings, such as chameleons, which make the world Cynthia Eden created for Immortal Danger unusual and engaging. This is the first book by Ms Eden that I have read but now I˘ll be looking for others. Immortal Danger is a great vampire tale that blends action, suspense, interesting characters and romance into a very entertaining mix.
