Lukian Vlakhusha was the leader of an elite group of shifters. He is a natural born shifter not a created one. In fact, he's a king but he doesn't lead any but his team. They had completed several missions and were known as the best. His team had taken a mission to destroy the woman known only to them as Peren. He hadn't had to kill a woman for a long time and he really had a problem with it. He had a picture of the subject and he had broken the rules and became obsessed with it.

When Peren does show up Lukian aborts the mission and takes her and her friends to protect her while he figures out how to tell her she's his mate. But there is more to Peren than he or she knows and there is an enemy that is determined to get to her. Can their passion for each other survive this or will it be too much for them both?

This book keeps you hopping, very hot! I really loved the way Peren and Lukian related to each other. She was able to overcome her fears and trust him. The way the story had such twists and the plot kept you on your toes. The others on the team are very interesting too. Really looking forward to reading their stories also. In all this was a great book and I would consider it a great addition to your library.
