| Ben is an Elvis Impersonator at one of the best hotels in Las Vegas.
He aspires to be a Vegas performer in one of the shows, even a small time show would do just fine. Ben resigns himself to Elvis for the time being though. That is until they fire Elvis. When Ben's brother, Phillip, offers him money to impersonate Phillip at a
masquerade ball how can Ben refuse with bills piling up and no job. You just never know who you are going to meet at a masquerade though.
Picking up a Shawn Lane story is always a good idea. Unique plot lines and likeable characters are a standard. Ben's character is well developed and likeable. I especially liked that his motivations for some of the not-so-angelic behaviors he displays are fully explained but not so much as to completely explain them away. The happy medium was appreciated throughout. I especially liked how real Ben's emotions and actions were. Trey's character was a little more obscure however. But both characters' personalities seemed to complement each other at the end when the conflict was under resolution. The unpredictability of the plot leaves a reader steadily reading right to the end.
