| Nexus Station Stationmaster Maris Claxon has finally reconnected with her lover, the vampire Pierce Grimaldi. The two hard workers have taken on the responsibility as godparents to their Artificial Intelligence connections new baby, now twelve. They have been trying to find the undead vampire who is killing all the different creatures who live on the station. Pierce is a living vampire; when he caught the vampire virus, he lived through the change. Undead vampires do not have brain function and need to be destroyed. Pierce is a special homicide investigator.
I LOVED Implosion Zone. Maris and Pierce were a wonderful couple who worked through their difficulties. As godparents to an AL child, they added time spent to them. Ms. Karmazin has an amazing facility of starting with a great premise and then having her characters tell the story, easily and fully. Maris and Pierce were two of my favorite characters from recent books. They had wonderful sex, unfortunately not enough of it! There were a number of children and adult characters who have important places in this story. This is the second story in Ms. Karmazin's well-developed world and I hope that she continues to write here.
