| Leah had lived with Kamar Sha'gar and his family on their enormous estate since she was orphaned at age eight. Kamar had stayed up that night with her. He had always been hers. She could not even imagine him with someone else. Now she was twenty-one. Kamar still looked at her as if she were the child he'd always loved. When Kamar's father, Mikkal, announced one evening at dinner that Kamar was to be married to the daughter of their company's greatest rival to facilitate a merger between their two companies to make them all even richer than the unimaginable wealth they already had, Leah was devastated. She decided to move from her childhood home, to sell her part of the company she'd inherited from her parents, and to show Kamar what he would be missing by marrying someone else.
Leah joined Kamar in the swimming pool wearing a daring bikini that made him notice what a beautiful woman she'd grown into. He suddenly realized she was no longer the little girl he'd helped to raise. He also realized that she was the only woman for him. But they were interrupted before he spoke to her by his fiancé who'd come to meet him for the first time. Kamar came to her room a short time later and announced that it was time for things to change. He knew he couldn't hold back anything making love to Leah the first time because he had to show her how much she truly meant to him or he would loose her forever. He loosened all the passion he felt for her because first impressions were the most important in a situation like this. The ensuing love scene is brilliantly written by Ms. Karland and as hot as they come. Kamar poured himself body and soul into winning the woman he realized he couldn't live without. I loved this story. It sizzles! Only Ms. Karland could put so much depth into her characters within the space limits of a Hot Flash. While IN A DIFFERENT LIGHT was complete and satisfying, I'd love to know more about these wonderful folks. Mikkal, Xandra, Kamar and Leah captured my interest and my heart. The trip through the nebula sounds fascinating. I'm hoping she'll feature them in a novel very soon. In the meantime, don't miss HOT FLASH! IN A DIFFERENT LIGHT. You'd never forgive yourself if you did.
