| Kidnapped at fifteen and transformed into a submissive sexual slave, Summer has spent more than a decade obeying the wishes and whims of her owner until the night she is given to his newest employee. RJ saves the life of a notorious human trafficker and is brought into the inner sanctum of his dark and cruel world. RJ slowly breaks through Summer's barriers and for the first time she truly desires and trusts a man. Will the secrets they are keeping from one another threaten their new found love?
This was a seriously sexy, heartbreaking yet heartwarming contemporary erotic romance. For such a grave and sad topic for the author to undertake, I still found myself entertained and able to laugh out loud at some scenes. Summer is such a strong young woman and she doesn't even know it. Her situation broke my heart and at the same time gave me hope that she could have the safe and secure future she deserved. RJ is a super sexy masculine wall hiding a tragic guilt. I couldn't help but fall for him as he fell for Summer. This story left me feeling an oppressive darkness and yet it was so well written that I just couldn't stop reading, needing to know what was going to happen next. I enjoyed meeting Blake and Cheryl and definitely hope that they both get their own story. I loved the beginning of the story when Lori is trying to catch the attention of her older neighbor Tav, it is so authentic and it reminded me of myself at that age, so filled with angst and hope. If you are looking for a must-read modern narrative pick this one up.
