| Being from Las Vegas, Aaron never imagined he would end up living in Houston. He lives with a female friend, helping her raise her young daughter Belinda. When he finds out Belinda's father Travis has just been released from prison, he decides to go check up on Travis and make sure he isn't planning to disrupt his Belinda's life. Travis just wants to locate his daughter and be a part of her life. When the two men meet, the attraction is instantaneous and hot. Can Aaron stop Travis from doing something that can get him sent back to prison before it's too late?
This was an interesting story. It had a plot I had yet to come across in m/m fiction and many interesting characters. I also liked the how Travis's pagan religion was explained to the reader so that you didn't feel lost. The story runs at a slow but steady pace. This being said ,I can't really say that I liked the character of Travis. I wanted to feel sorry for him for everything that had happened to him and everything he was going through, but it just seemed he had no one to blame but himself and apparently he didn't learn from his mistakes. I also didn't like the character of Rosemary, Belinda's mother. She was too self-involved to seem like a good mother and it never gave any specific reason for her to fear Travis, other than he went to prison for something that had nothing to do with her. I did like the character of Aaron. He was the steady one in the story and he didn't seem to have any emotions that had no basis in the story. There are plenty of hot m/m scenes but they are well written and fit Travis and Aaron well. I can't say this is going to be one of my favorite stories, but it's not bad and I think it will appeal to a larger audience than me.
