| This book is my first paranormal and I’ll admit that I’m rather intrigued with the whole concept! This author, Ms. Bjork, presents a fascinating tale about an on-going battle between the Vampires and the Others. This fight is for the Elixir of Life, a potion possessed by the Vampires and needed by the Others. This group could find no sexual fulfillment without the Elixir; therefore, he had been sent to kill the Queen and confiscate the potion so that his people could become whole again.
He (whose name was never revealed) killed the Queen, but was unable to find the potion. He killed her during the afternoon when her powers were less, then spent the whole night searching for the powerful potion. He did not know how the Queen could have hidden it because she was not pre-warned of the attack. The Queen’ servants, Micah and Sasha were deeply involved by prior planning with the Queen. This author shows a range of emotions through her characters. They are all important to the tale, and the story flows well. Ms. Bjork is a talented writer whose quick wit and fast-paced story is an entertainment that all would enjoy. I recommend her work and this book, particularly, because it has certainly changed my mind about paranormals and vampires!
