Jem Stonehouse tries to resist him, because he has a reputation for loving and leaving. But she finds herself intrigued by his obsession to be near her. He stalks her around the market place and the trails home. She finds herself falling for him. He has a silver tongue and is quite handsome. It's that silver tongue that convinces her to come away with him into the forest where she has been forbidden to go.

Ms. Belfield creates a love story hard to put down. She takes the playboy Sean and shows us that once the right woman comes along we fall, and sometimes we fall hard. Both Sean and Jem break the rules, and take the punishment just to see one another. Ms. Belfield takes us all the way through the emotional journey of forbidden love to the end where they must choose between love or family, and the sacrifices they must make to remain together. I love the way it was written, I felt it had a fairy tale type feel -- although not one I would tell the children. Her descriptions are so vivid you find yourself walking in her beautiful forest, seeing the colors and smelling the smells. I found this to be an excellent book with an interesting story line, captivating characters, all very quick and easy to read.
