Andrea Jordan has promised her dying grandmother that she would make sure that her Cousin Tracey's daughter is alright. Tracey has a history of drug abuse and neither of the two women trusts her to take care of her three-month-old daughter. Sure enough, Andrea finds the squalid meth lab that Tracy and her daughter call home, complete with a dead body in the bathtub. Andrea, unable to wake her cousin, takes the baby, some money, and leaves a note. Unfortunately, the money belongs to Tracy's drug dealing boyfriend who will stop at nothing to get it back. Justin Blackburn has his own reasons to hate drug dealer David Elkrunner, and is determined not to let him victimize another person, especially a woman as appealing as Andrea.

Ms. Brannigan has written a book that will keep the reader on the edge of her seat. The suspense builds throughout the novel to the climax. The author identifies the main villain early, but there is more than one whose identity is surprising. The characters are very well developed and realistic, and she describes settings so well that for instance, you can almost see and smell everything in the meth lab. The romance between Andrea and Justin is very well written, and as important to the plot as the suspense aspect. The reader will find herself unable to put this one down. I couldn't and I recommend Interference to anyone who likes to read romantic suspense.
