| Jay has had a crummy day. She's lost her mail and her job as guitarist with a band. She's really not up for having her geeky neighbor Fred play rescuer. But he does and he seems to grow on her especially when he shows up to rescue her once again looking hot in leather. Seems he's an interstellar traffic cop and her apartment has become a jumping off spot for aliens. He's got to get her somewhere safe. His home on a planet far, far away seems good.
Autumn Dawn has written one of those stories full of tongue in cheek humor, great romance and some galaxy wide mayhem. I'm glad Jay's character is consistent throughout. She's a calming influence even though she's just gone from earth to another planet in the blink of an eye. She seems to love spaceships, flying and all the comforts she didn't have at home. She even gets to adopt a pet pendragon who can carry a tune better than some of her former friends. Geeky Fred turns into Kutlazx Azair, a Sado, ex assassin with a cheating ex wife, a girlfriend who aborted his baby and a bunch of enemies, most in the shape of bugs, slugs and nasty creatures. With his friends Tayl Chahser, Red, Kok a living rock-man and Nightbird her Fred/Kutlazx is soon off fighting the bad guys and saving the day while she's getting kidnapped. This is just a fun story filled with some great sex and uniquely interesting characters.
