Forced to take time off, Charlie Tate heads out to spend a few days relaxing in a friend’s cabin. He is looking forward to a few beers, a hot shower and sexual fantasies of co-worker Detective Miranda Duncan. Determined to seduce Charlie, Miranda follows him to the cabin. She thought it would be difficult to convince him to get past the fact that they are co-workers, but when he answers the door in nothing but a towel, all bets are off, and so is the towel!

Fun, fast-paced and full of sizzling hot sex are the best words to describe this book. Charlie is a very level-headed guy and he rationalizes everything. But the feelings he has for Miranda won’t fit in his controlled world. Miranda is a strong independent woman who is sure to keep Charlie on his toes. Their characters are fantastic. Although I feel we barely got the tip of the iceberg when it comes to these two. I can’t wait to see them more in future books in this series. The physical attraction has always been strong between them, but when they finally act on it, the sparks fly and the flames burn even hotter than either of them thought they would. This short and spicy read made a great interlude in this series and this book is sure to wet the reader’s appetite for more.
