Cassandra Connely is a troubled woman, burdened by a tragedy from her past. Her only hope to get through life is to depend on sedatives to help keep the nightmares of horrific, clawed creatures at bay. As a call girl, she's had a lot of clients, but not one with such a peculiar fetish as the one she'd been hired to visit. He's a blood drinker and once he touches her, the nightmares turn real.

This is an extremely touching story with two tremendous characters that have both suffered losses in their pasts. At one moment in this book, I felt like crying for Cassandra because she believed she didn't deserve redemption for the accident she caused that killed her friend when in reality she did. It wasn't as if she could bring her friend back. What was done was done. As for Viktor, I loved the way he treated Cassandra like she was precious to him, even though he had never met her until she turned up on his doorstep as his latest human companion.

Abigail Barnette has done a magnificent job penning this paranormal story. The sex scenes were explosive, illustrating that Cassandra and Viktor were a perfect match. The plot was absolutely brilliant, delving into past lives and revealing a surprise connection between the two characters. Moreover, this book will not just tempt fans of vampires, but many romance readers because it expresses that love is the key to salvation of the past.
