| Sapphire was the favored concubine of the King of Sari for five years. Now that she's "retired", she has the one thing she's worked towards all these years - the freedom to do as she pleases.
Wulfric is the Crown Prince of D'Ashier, a kingdom in conflict with Sari for generations. He is captured and given as a "gift" to Sapphire by the jealous Queen of Sari, who hopes that the Prince will kill the former concubine. Instead, the two fall in love. But in order to be together, they will have to overcome almost overwhelming obstacles - including a potential war. Can there be a happily-ever-after for them? In the Flesh is a tale filled with adventure, intrigue, and romance. It's a great example of how a talented writer can combine genres in a wonderful way. Ms. Dare has crafted a story set in a world that is utterly believable. With a strong cast of characters and an original plot, In the Flesh is sure to be a favorite. And it doesn't hurt that the love scenes are scorching, and numerous! Wulf was the sexy alpha male that every woman wants, and his intense desire for Sapphire was a total turn-on. He was absolutely focused 100% on her when they were together. And Sapphire, although she tried to fight it, was not immune. She was a strong, capable woman who didn't want to lose her freedom - but couldn't help loving this masculine, dominant hero. Their's was a truly romantic tale. There was a great cast of supporting characters as well - villains and "good guys" aplenty here. Witty dialog and wonderful description rounded out this well-written book. Highly recommended!
