Alrik is surprised that Earth would allow their women to fight, and even more shocked at just how good this woman is with strategy and tactics. If she had more resources he might have been worried. Once he gets a look at her, he knows she’s the one he’s been looking for as a mate. The question is, can he convince her of that?

I really liked the beginning of this story, I loved that Laney was such a strong individual who could stand on her own, with the capability and experience of leading entire armies. Laney is understandably shocked when she’s offered up to Alrik, and her initial reaction is just what I would have expected. However, I had a bit of a time convincing myself that she would be submissive to Alrik and put up with some of what she did because it just didn’t feel like her personality. I really liked Alrik; he was the strong Alpha type that I like to see in these types of stories. I thought the story was well written and I wanted to read more about the secondary characters… maybe a series is in the making? I definitely had a great time reading Invasion Earth, and I will be looking out for more from this talented author.
