| Ava is one of Aztec Security¢s best agents. The beautiful operative can make any man tell her what she wants to know. This particular mission is more dangerous than the usual, the target, Evan Grayson is a drug and gun runner and has already killed one of their best agents. Another complication is her partner Thorn Abbott, the agency¢s technical expert who has never been a field agent before. Ava and Thorn must keep their minds on the job and off of their attraction to each other.
This is a very exciting and suspenseful tale. The chemistry between Thorn and Ava is evident from the beginning and it is fun to watch the both of them fight it. It takes another woman¢s attention to make Ava take action. All the while they are searching for ways to take Grayson down, but he is wilier than they give him credit for. The characters in this story are excellent. Thorn is a technical genius, but a novice agent and it shows. Ava is a bit overconfident, and they both get sidetracked by their attraction to each other. The setting is Lake Charles, near a Louisiana bayou with all of the attendant gators, snakes, and other creepy crawlies, a fitting setting for the villain. There are a few surprises in store for the reader at the end, making this a very enjoyable read.
