| Vincent Marcelli is a private investigator with a particularly troubling case. A young boy has been kidnapped. It should be an easy one to solve, but he has run into a dead end. He is willing to try anything, even hire a psychic, to find the little boy before it is too late. Vince does not believe in anything that he does not understand. Julie is a well known psychic who has worked with the police numerous times with great success. She does not work with the police much lately but can not refuse the case or the chance to work with Vince. The two are increasingly attracted to each other and their relationship heats up as the case progresses.
The author of this story really knows how to build and combine romantic tension and suspense. This story had me on the edge of my seat most of the time. I loved the dynamics between the two main characters. They could not have been more different or more perfect for each other. Their determination to find the little boy is only rivaled by their attraction to each other. The plot is full of suspenseful twists and turns leading to an interesting and startling climax. I thought that I knew what was going to happen but ended up being surprised. Ms. Wallace has taken a typical suspense story and made it fresh and new.
