Bella is put in a convent to await the day her husband will come for her. She has a strong attitude and is told the man who is to be her husband will have to have a firm hand in controlling her. Then one day a raven-haired knight named Karl enters the convent and the sparks between them fly. She never expected the man she felt such a strong attraction towards is her intended, so when she's found away from the convent she gives the name Agnes. Soon she is giving her innocence to the knight and falling in love with the only man she's ever been with.

Karl comes to the convent not knowing his intended is there. Meeting the woman named Agnes, he can't explain the intense attraction he feels for her. He soon convinces the maid to sleep with him and he thinks that will be the end of it. After he leaves he can's seem to get the woman off his mind. Then is a case of mistaken identity, Karl marries the woman he thinks is Isabella and she is allowed to bring a companion along. Only Belle is the companion and feels at a loss when she realizes what has happened.

Using betrayal and mistaken identity this book kept me interested all the way through. Karl can seem a bit oblivious at times and you wonder why he can't figure it out. Belle can make you curse with pretending to be someone she's not, but all these aspects make the plot what it is. The passion between Karl and Belle is hotter than hot. If you want to read a great book full of mystery and drama then pick this one up.
