| Isanne de Burgh finds herself in the present but still remembers her husband and young child she left back in 1348. Husband Symon thinks he's only dreaming of a strange world but he somehow goes to modern London and finds his wife to take her back to their own time. Finally he has found a way to go back in time and try to save his young daughter from the plague. If only his wife will forgive him for bringing the disease on himself and his family.
Laura Hogg pens a type of time travel romance in which two young Christians must believe in a world and a God that can work miracles across the ages. Isanne believes in God, loves her husband Symon but blames him for bringing illness to their child. This is a powerful tale of forgiveness and love that seems to span the barriers of time and challenge the character's faith. The theme of the story is excellent but sometimes the way it's written had me struggling to follow its path through memories, dreams and reality.
