| This new book from Lorie O'Clare is one I've been waiting a very long time to read. I didn't know it was the one until I'd started reading it, but it was everything my heart had been longing for in a book. The first page captured my attention and I didn't look up from the pages until it was finished.
Joanna's is such a compelling story and very exciting. She grew up on the streets of Detroit. At sixteen she was rescued from rehab by Alpha Corp, a worldwide anti-terrorist organization, and trained to be an assassin. She'd fallen hopelessly in love with a General, but she never knew if he loved her or not. When she discovered she was six weeks pregnant, but she hadn't had sex for more than three months, she knew something strange was going on. She became frightened and at the first opportunity, she ran. She and her five-year-old son had been running ever since, just barely managing to stay one step ahead of Alpha Corp. She didn't know how they'd been so lucky this far. Finally, she got the identification of her neighbor who'd committed suicide and was able to move with her son to an isolated settlement in the Colorado mountains in the United States where they'd be safe and could live a normal life. Her first friend was the wife of the sheriff. The Sheriff's good friend looked almost like Jonathon, the Alpha Corp general she'd not been able to forget. It didn't help her to forget him that her son looked just like him. Hunter's nose was smaller and his build was heavier, if anything he was even more attractive than Jonathon. If he was Jonathon, she and Alex must run for their lives again. Did Hunter really love them, or was it a ploy to get close to them so he, Jonathon, could take Alex back to Alpha Corp and kill Joanna? Jennifer/Joanna couldn't resist Hunter's kisses and Alex loved him already. Alex had never kept secrets from her before Hunter befriended him. She found proof in his wall safe that he was Jonathon and his mission was to capture the boy and kill the woman. Jonathon swore that he wasn't trying to take their son or to kill her. He said he'd been responsible for her narrow escapes all those times, but then he'd lost track of her. He'd escaped and hidden in this town two years before she got here. All he wanted was to live a normal life with his son and the woman he loved. If he was lying, Alex would spend the rest of his life as a lab experiment and she'd be dead. Did she dare trust the man she loved with all her heart when he offered her the one thing she'd always wanted? Was it all just too good to be true? I loved this book. I loved the intricate character development, the original plot and the way the really explicit and very exciting love scenes fit smoothly into the story line. It kept the whole story heated with sexual tension from beginning to end. Don't miss reading ISSUE OF TRUST. I know you're going to love it as much as I did.
