| Amber Bradley had lived her life with a goal in mind—make it to the top of her profession and then get married and have children. As a defense attorney with her own practice, she had reached her goal. Now she wanted Mr. Right so she could get started on the six children she wanted to mother. In the meantime, she was a foster buddy to an eleven-year-old girl, Katie. It was too bad that the only man who captured her attention was one who was terribly wrong for her.
Josh Craig was an auto mechanic who, for the past year, couldn't get Amber out of his system. The two met when their best friends, Marc and Stacey Haines, were married a year ago. When she finally danced with him, sparks ignited between them. It was too bad that Amber felt she was too good for a 'grease monkey'. She felt that Josh had no get up and go—and she hated greasy finger nails. Ms. Linda Engman has done an excellent job relating this poignant story to readers. It presented us with two characters that were so perfect for each other. Tough situation for both main characters to deal with—Engman's writing style portrayed the struggles both faced. The “un” couple seemed to find themselves around each other more and more. It was a great slant to this storyline. The two main characters were subjected to each other's struggles and emotional baggage. They were a couple of truly believable people who had more accomplishments than the other gave credit for. This is a wonderful book to get lost in and allow the emotional challenges to capture your imagination. I highly recommend that you read this book. I cannot wait to read more by this author.
