At a party, Jack makes a scene involving Jill, cruelly saying he didn't miss her after a year of not seeing her. They end up outside, discussing what had happened between them. A year ago, Jack had fallen down Fantasy Hill and fell into a coma. For a while, Jill tried to stick it out but, according to her, Jack's mother made her life hell until she left. Then she made up stories to keep Jill from coming back. After they talk about it, Jill runs away from the party and Jack. He doesn't know how to find her, or even if she can forgive him for not trying to ask her if what his mother told him was true.

This was a very short story involving two lovers who needed to forgive each other to move on. I liked Jake but found Jill a little immature for a grown woman. I thought the book had the beginnings of a good story but there wasn't enough characterization of Jack and Jill by the end to make the story seem complete. Towards the end, their actions seemed hurried. I'd have liked the book very much, except for those things.
