Ja-Rel had come to Torrine to barter enough money to buy himself a mate. Women were scarce on his planet, and he didn't want to end up alone. Women in his culture only mated to produce children, leaving the males pretty frustrated. He is stunned to discover what he thought was a maned lioness wading in the creek… even more surprising is the fact that she seemed to be all over him. After mating, he knows they are together for life. After all, she chose him, didn't she?

I really enjoyed reading JA-REL'S LIONESS. It had a different type of story line that kept me interested and engaged throughout the whole book. Elise is a great character, she knows she's lucky to be surviving, and is happy to be alive, but wants more. When she's exposed to Ja-rel, she doesn't know what is happening when his pheromones kick in, but at the same time doesn't act hysterical about it. Ever practical, she can't understand why he thinks they are now mated. The misunderstandings between the two are something that you could defiantly see happening with two such different cultures and outlooks on life. Ja-Rel was an interesting character, he starts out as somewhat naive, but I found as I went along that I simply didn't understand where he was coming from. That's one of the things I thought was wonderful about this story, I seemed to be learning as Elise did. The sex in the story was great, but there wasn't anything too kinky or out of the ordinary. JA-REL'S LIONESS is a excellent love story that I would defiantly recommend to anyone that likes futuristic romances.
