| Evangeline has lived in the royal court since she was a small girl. Her talent is pulling emotion from others and changing it. The Court of the Edaeii wants Evangeline to infuse magick back into their bloodlines. Evangeline has finally been rewarded for her talent when revolutionaries overthrow the palace and she is thrown out into the streets.
This is a very powerful story about a royal family living high when their subjects are suffering in the streets, and the fallout that happens when the people revolt. Evangeline is a product of her childhood. Her sense of entitlement is natural since that is the way she was raised, and she is not feeling her own emotions. Anatol is also part of the royals yet he can see that what the royals are doing is wrong. Gregorio is the revolutionary who led the rebels to revolt but he also has feelings for Evangeline so he protects them in his home. Evangeline's anger towards Gregorio gradually turns to desire as she matures and without the influence of the royals, begins to experience her own emotions again. I really loved how the author didn't make their relationship easy. The trials they went through made the whole story believable. It is fast paced with physical and mental action. The sex scenes are exciting and erotic but written with a depth of emotion that draws you into their minds. If you like your books with a unique storyline, action packed and emotional, this is a good choice for you.
