Valerie McIver feels responsible for her impassive mother. Her father's love has always abounded and she has sided more toward him. Coming from a wealthy family, her father insists upon a bodyguard for her protection. After she becomes slightly attracted to Calum, she soon is taken captive and discovers it all surrounds a piece of old jewelry.

Calum MacAllister does everything in his power to please his father. His father is dying and requires two things: a woman named Valerie McIver and a piece of jewelry. Calum is confused, the jewelry, yes, but Valerie, the enemy's daughter? Yet his father insists he do something scandalously criminal.

Valerie finds it hard to believe that a man who knows her father has trapped her like some hostage and to think she felt a little magnetism for Calum! Well, he fooled her and her father. Calum expresses the reasons behind the kidnapping but Valerie still decides to seek escape. She refuses to be taken to Scotland. Calum must fulfill his dying father's wishes, even though it is wrong, but declines to upset his father. His hands are full with Valerie trying to flee at every turn. He will be glad when they finally arrive in Scotland, unbeknownst that once they arrive things will spin into further chaos, as their attraction intensifies.

Jeweled Seduction is an explosive story. It is filled with a highly charged suspense of fabrication, disloyalty and darkened mysteries from the past that detonate with every turn of the page. Valerie, with her high spirits and sharpness, and Calum with his fortitude while trying to empathize with his feelings, is delightfully woven in the book. Ms. McPhee works magic with her characters as if spinning a wand creating such a sexual tension between Calum and Valerie that the pages almost ignite. She creates an energizing read that keeps the reader spellbound.
