Amy’s Dad, Dan Worth, waited while Amy got her wedding gown out of the back seat of the town car. Dan tried to get her to spend a few more days with him and Silvie (Amy’s ‘step monster’) because he thought she didn’t need to be alone the day after she had been stood up at the altar by Evan, who fell for another woman, Candee (with two e’s). She was the dancer at his bachelor party! Evan not only jilted her, he left her with a mortgage on a big home with lots of renovations required, and a beauty salon mortgage for the shop where she had worked.

When she stayed at the big old house alone, not only did she meet her next door neighbor, Falon, but they quickly became really good friends and, together, they took off to find Evan and Candee! Luckily Key West was too large for them to locate them! After traveling home, Amy decided she was going to suck in up and make the renovations and, somehow, she would make enough money to pay the bills!

This interesting novel explores the disastrous relationships both Amy and Falon have in their lives. Falon has always dated younger men; Amy thought she had found a much better man than Evan when she met, and started dating, Matt. The more either of them got involved, the more they ignored the evidence that something was not right! Amy’s self esteem was very low; Falon was sick, but refused to acknowledge it. The only good thing about their tragic situations was the friendship between the two ladies continued to grow!

This book is very involved, covers a myriad of emotions and relationships, has some poignant moments, and the flow is excellent! These characters are strong and willing to tackle life after continual disappointments. This is more than a feel-good story; it is one you will not soon forget! The plot is different, the ending surprising, and I recommend it highly. Kudos to Ms. Edmondson!
