Tempting Fate - Holiday Fantasies: Journey's End

Paranormal romance

Colleen McBride dreams she is a woman named Megan, whose lover was cursed by a witch by order of Lianhan Shee. The witch promised they'd have a second chance in another time, but for then, they could not be together. Instead, Donal O'Shea was forced to go to Lianhan Shee. She was a fairy and refused to take no for an answer. The dreams are exhausting Colleen, so she decides to take a vacation and ends up quitting her job. Something urges her to go north from Boston. And when she stops for a rest, she meets Ronan O'Shea. And now she thinks she knows why she had the urge to go north instead of south.

Ronan has been drawn to the sea his entire life, and as a result, has never formed a lasting relationship with any woman. Nor has he ever tried. But Colleen draws him like the sea draws him and he becomes determined to avoid her.

Colleen continues to feel as though she only as so much time. She has to find a door with a shamrock on it and she has to find it by St. Patrick's Day. And she still has no idea why she needs to do these things.

Journey's End was very romantic. Kay Wilde always seems to catch the characters' emotions so well. The reincarnation theme was never fully explored; it fueled the romance yet it did not go into detail, nor did it mention any other past lives. I appreciated that fact, as it made the romance between Ronan and Colleen seem based more on each other rather than on a "past life." I'd have liked to see the story be longer, with more exploration on the developing relationship between the main characters, but I did not find the book to be too short. It was short, yet it didn't seem like anything was left hanging. Kay Wilde has become an auto-read for me, and I'd gladly recommend Journey's End to any romance readers!
