| Mary Margaret Tortelli is often compared to her alter-ego, sexy suspense writer Magda Torrene and her even sexier creation PI Stacy Peach. Maggie is working to earn back her investigative license when she is framed for her boss's look-alike, licentious brother's murder. If that isn't enough, she's also dealing with a psycho stalker fan. Fellow PI Rick Sloane is recruited to protect Maggie, but he's worried that the author will just like her creation and he isn't too keen on his assignment. When Rick and Maggie find themselves stranded on the remote island, they mistakenly believe they can relax in their hidden hideaway.
This humorous book is a stand-alone, although some of the characters carry over from previous titles. The heroine was introduced in Picture This and I felt like perhaps I might have been missing some inside jokes and information. The plot had plenty of twists and bends, although I did feel as if it sagged some in the middle. The storyline is fun yet on occasion complex. A huge cast of well-portrayed, quirky characters make for a very believable tale. However, sometimes I felt that there were too many fingers in the peach pie. I found myself cheering at Maggie's cheeky comments and often laughing right out loud. Rick is a true hero -- a good guy who would steal any woman's heart. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the romance evolve between the two main characters. I'm looking forward to reading about the lives of the other characters to see what adventures they can get up to.
