| Demon hunter Dixon comes into Maura's shop for canine flea control treatment and thinks Maura is perfect for him. Convincing her isn't going to be easy, especially when he has to keep an eye on his shapeshifting partner. She believes a good girl like her doesn't stand a chance with an action hero like Dix but perhaps he's the one who doesn't stand a chance.
This was a fun, fast, flirty read. The main characters were very likable and their interaction had me chuckling out loud almost throughout the entire story. Maura is a spunky lady and I loved her quick wit and her snappy conversation with Dixon. I wish I could have delved a little deeper into her shop and profession but what I did learn about I liked. Dix is a typical charmer and I found him as hard to resist as the heroine did. The secondary plot about Dix's shapeshifting partner was interesting and I enjoyed it. The love scene was just what I was expecting and flowed well with the plot and pace. I look forward to seeing what else this author has to offer and reading about other inhabitants of this fun world.
