| Two years prior to this trip, Noelle Walker had suffered burns over major parts of her body, including her face. Her neighbor was in a wheelchair and his apartment was on fire. He refused to leave his dog. She rescued the dog, but was severely burned. He couldn't stand her miserable feelings so he sent her on a fabulous trip to visit Valselo and worship at the feet of the Mother of God. She was so self-conscious when she met an amazing man on the plane. She immediately was drawn to him.
Dr. Shane Thompson was a maxillofacial surgeon who was interested in Noelle. He saw God in her life and hopefulness for the future. He also knew he could do surgery to improve her looks and pain levels. Shane could see a definite future with her but he knew she had acceptance issues. Ms. Daughters has done a wonderful job with this story. The book is so beautifully told. The book is intensely spiritual. It has myriad prayers and praying the rosary. This impressed me with the value of this plot because Daughters wrote a dedicated, implicated vision into the life of a follower of Christ. The major couple has such chemistry. Their supporting characters are realistic and make the story even better. The surprising controversies were amazing and so well written. The happy-ever-after was hard won. The entire book was breathtaking. I loved the book and highly recommend it to others.
