| Sharon Timmons has never let herself get too close to anyone. A devastating childhood that she had to survive and grow from the hard way has left her with too little trust for any relationship to come easy. Pete Rayne grew up in a tight knit loving family. They both are service workers caring for others in their everyday life but in private they've never found that one person to give their heart too. When Sharon is dumped by his partner Pete grabs on to the woman he's wanted for a long time and hangs on tight.
Jane Leopold Quinn weaves an intricate story of a woman who's had to win any sense of security she could the hard way. This is a hopeful tale for women everywhere who've had a childhood like Sharonâs. No matter how much she was beaten down she never gave up. The people whose love she craved never knew how to give it. Others did and she was able to turn her life around. Pete has been surrounded by love. He's earned the respect of his friends and coworkers and is secure in who he is as a person. The author builds his character page by page into one of those men who's able to respect where others have been in their life. He doesn't have to compete for attention, he's had it all his life. Sharon has come to a point where she's secure in many ways except when it comes to whether or not anyone can ever accept her for what she is, has been and will be. These two together are a magical and erotic couple who just may be able to make things work. It's great to watch the author build this story into something really special. It's a wonderful reinforcement to a belief that people should never give up on love.
