| Rayner is lord of the largest kingdom in the area. He has been engaged since birth to the daughter of a neighboring kingdom which borders his land. He still fell head over hells for Kella, as she for him. His father put a stop to their lusty affair. Just as well since there was no future in loving a man betrothed to another. When her father died, he offered to take over her land and keep her as his mistress; an offer she flatly refused. Now her advisors tell her there is not enough in the treasury to keep the people through the winter. Her only hope to save her people is the man she’d just scorned and rejected. She knows she has to get him back, but it has to look like his idea. His kidnapping her just might turn out to be the luckiest thing that has ever happened.
This is a lusty story as Rayner and Kella just can’t resist their sexual attraction. They find it difficult to make the time to discuss their situation. The story is well written, funny, and very sensual. The characters are well developed and witty, as well as very sexy. The plot takes an unusual route to an unexpected end. While Rayner and Kella fall into bed immediately and do almost nothing else, their behavior has been well set up so it fits into the story smoothly and doesn’t seem rushed or out of place under the circumstances. Kella’s Charm is a delightful medieval romp that will leave you reaching for an iced drink and a fan.
