| When Okibi Rowe, Rookery Cove’s resident phoenix and island protector, enters her mating cycle she almost thought of it as perfect timing. Her pheromone-laced sweat secreted during her cycle is an integral part in Rookery Cove Aphrodisiacs most popular perfume, Need. Since her cycle only occurs every twenty years, it was time to stock up. Unfortunately for her, Phillip Quinn, President of Rookery Cove Aphrodisiacs, has other plans for the self-appointed protector of the island. He wants her to focus a little less on guard duty and a little more on creating wonderful scents that will make Rookery Cove an even greater success. Branimir Symon is not only a male griffon, commonly referred to as a keythong, he’s also King of the Griffons. With his best friend, lover, and confidant Viktor by his side he’s decided that he’s ready to find a mate. But not just any mate, the men want a woman that will match them as a warrior and a lover. Their perfect woman will be just that, theirs. Will Okibi accept that these two men are destined to be her mates for life or will her fear keep them at arms length?
Maybe I need a little of Rookery Cove’s signature perfume Need. If it’ll get me two hot, caring hunks like Branimir and Viktor, I’ll travel to the ends of the earth! Ms. Garrett weaves mythical creatures and modern times together seamlessly to create a burning (figuratively and literally) story of passion that’ll leave you trying to guess what will happen next. Okibi is unpredictable with an inner phoenix throwing monkey wrenches into the mix at every turn. I kept my fingers crossed that the two heroes of this story wouldn’t mess everything up and manage to prove their worth to such a strong woman/creature. The men had their own inner beasts to deal with and the imaginative combination left plenty of room for a bit of action both in the bed and out of it. Rookery Cove: The Keythong’s Blaze is a fun quick read filled with laughs and a good dose of love to balance the mix.
