Liz Cromwell is on her way to have a spa day of pampering when she is suddenly snatched, gagged, blindfolded and tossed into the back of a van. She tries to get a sense of her surroundings, even down to the deep voice of the man, as well as the smell of his cologne, and sound of his boots. Mac Tyrell needs an extension on his mortgage but the bank says no. He never intended on abducting any woman, but it was the only way he could think of coming up with the money so fast to save his property, and the deal sounded sweet. Liz doesn’t understand who would kidnap her and why. Even though she and her father have issues, other than that, things seem to go okay for her. All she knew was she was being held captive by a masked Betty Rubble and a Bart Simpson and she wanted to be free. When things turn sour, Liz soon finds herself in the graces of Mac alone, and the more time the two spend together, she soon begins to learn the truth about Mac, and issues within her life, but when it draws closer to her getting answers to her kidnapping, she is shocked when she learns the real reason.

Kidnapped is a terrific read. The characters are so well-developed and one can actually feel their emotions with the struggles Liz and Mac go through. It has just the right season of romance, with some witty conversation, and personalities that really touch the reader. From the first page it took me by storm, and I couldn’t put it down. This story leaves one breathless with all the twists and turns. Shiela Stewart weaves an incredible tale that hooks the reader and keeps them on the edge of their seat. I could not help but feel for Liz. The budding romance between her and Mac is spun so beautifully throughout the pages. Wow Ms. Stewart is one talented storyteller.
