| Called home urgently by her father Samantha Spenser is surprised to find him gone. Taking a snowboarding break to wait for him she's shot and ends up on the doorstep of Maximilian Stone. Constantly trying to avoid the bad guys, their budding romance doesn't go smoothly. Max is attracted to Sam but can't forget that the last woman he got close to was killed. Their complicated relationship has frequent road blocks mixed with some great sexual scenarios. Can the two defeat the bad guys and win one another?
Denise Robbins pens an excellent suspense that is fast moving and thrilling. Sam is no slouch when it comes to being able to fight. She's a constant surprise, showing that she learned the lessons taught at her father's knee well. Max is often so lost in lust and admiration for her that he forgets his mission to save his brother. But not for long as the bad guys keep things hot with flying lead and bring them out of their lustful thoughts and bedroom play. One or the other always seems to be patching holes left by the bad guys' lucky shots. As the second in a series this is great reading and I'm going to be sure to read the others. Ms. Robbins keeps us on the edge of our seats with a writing style that makes it hard to put the book down. Great romantic scenarios and humor are mixed with sadness at the things these two excellent star characters have survived. She builds the book to a thrilling conclusion in a way that's sure to make fans of everyone who reads it.
