This is one steamy hot romantic suspense story. It is laden with sexual tension and apprehension. It starts off with a gruesome discovery and doesn't let up until the finale. I felt that while we delved a little into what made Sunny tick, we never really learned more about the man behind the detective shield. Rick is a wonderful character and I enjoyed the glimpses we had into his heart and mind. I understand undeniable sexual attraction and chemistry but I found my self on the verge of disgust with both characters that her brother is in danger and they are continually indulging in each other. For goodness sake take a cold shower and focus on the danger. I am not of fan of knowing who the bad guy is practically from the beginning. I enjoyed reading mysteries in order to match wits with the author and the bad guy and see if I can figure out who the antagonist is before our heroes do. I found the killer to be very clichéd and trite and found myself cringing at his actions and his motives. Be forewarned, there are explicit male/male erotic scenes in this story as well as graphic violence.
