Paranormal romance

Crystal Addison is a psychic sometimes trusted by the police to help with cases involving paranormal powers. Most of the police are skeptics or worse but Police Chief Liu has some trust in her abilities. After a particularly gruesome death Crystal comes into contact with an elemental named Razael Quaylen who’s willing to work with her.

Ms. Bedwell-Grime has given us an interesting romantic suspense. Crystal is built as a self taught woman with powers most people reject as they do her for their weirdness in a judgmental human world. Razael, on the other hand, opens up a world of others like her that she can feel a part of.. And, hmmmm, she gets to be a big part of him in some sizzling eroticism too!

It makes the story much better to have it told from Crystal’s point of view. As an insecure, self deprecating person she has a lot of interesting tidbits to share about her life in a wry, tongue in cheek kind of humor. She’s built as a little fragile, afraid of spiders, not very secure about the dark but, when Razael is attacked she finds powers she didn’t know she had to defend her man against evil. Razael is built as a stud taking second place to Crystal all the way through. It’s fun to have authors who will let a female heroine save the day, keeping the man as her support without stealing the show.
