Elizabeth Woodville hopes her life will be filled with happiness. She has a father who adores her, and with him being King, how could things possibly be bitter? Her mother even tries tossing in some schemes but Elizabeth has her own morals she holds dear. Elizabeth isn't happy when she learns, at an early age; she must be betrothed to a King. She tries to push the thought aside, but fate takes a different turn for her. With England in much disorder, Elizabeth 's world spirals, as she discovers, not only the destiny for her father, but herself, as she quickly learns to sacrifice any happiness for herself. Can she handle the terrible burden most women must bear in a time of uproar, or will she, Elizabeth of York, only be known as the unforgotten Queen?

Heart and soul is encrypted in The King's Daughter as the reader plunges into a rich history of events transporting them right along to the trials that Elizabeth shares in her lifetime. For some to have to wed at such an early age, to Kings, often with no love in an arranged marriage, was something many young girls of nobility had to bear. I found the despair and devastation within the wars, along with the suffering families, visual throughout the story. My heart went out to Elizabeth and how she had to give up much, but she remains true and loyal, learning to accept the fate of many things. Sandra Worth has outdone herself in this remarkable story. Her voice even expels the children's feelings and how many sons didn't understand the role in attaining the King's title. My heart broke with little Arthur, and the families in this powerful tale. This note-worthy read captured my heart as every player breathes life into the pages.
