Darronn realizes that to love Alexi and to respect her he must compromise. Alexi is falling in love with Darronn but fights it because she wants to go back home so she can keep up the search for Alice. When she tells Darronn the reason she wants to go home he wonders if he should tell her that Alice is there in his land and is married to his brother and is high Queen of Tarok, but he chooses not to tell her because he wants her to stay with him until she falls in love. He is afraid if he lets her know she will want to go to see Alice right away and he wants more time with her. When two of his brothers come to visit it is discovered there is a plot by their sister to hurt Alice and her children. As the brothers are discussing how to handle the problem, Alexi overhears them and discovers that Alice is living there and that Darronn has lied and kept the truth from her. Alexi tells Darronn that they are over, and that she can't trust him. Darronn realizes that he has screwed up with her, but is it to late to win Alexi's trust and love back? Ms. McCray has done it again! This is a very exciting, hot, erotic story. The heat between Darronn and Alexi will have you needing to take several cold showers. For those who thought Alice was to submissive you need to give this one a try. Alexi is very strong and lets Darronn dominate her in the bedroom, but in the rest of their lives she needs to be treated as an equal. This story is beautiful because Darronn comes to realize that his mate does need to be treated as an equal, and so he is willing to learn and compromise with Alexi and allow her to be his equal. This is a fantastic second book in the series and I can't wait to see what happens in the next two.
