| Can old friends pretend to be married to save their careers or are they headed for a major disaster. Reggie Snow writes a popular young adult fiction series and when she finds herself unexpectedly pregnant and alone she needs to get married quickly to salvage her reputation. Reggie's childhood best friend, Dr. Patrick "Trick" McCullough is finding that his past is hampering his present. Trick is now an OBGYN but his reputation as a player is sending patients in his town to the doctor in a nearby town instead of to him. So when Reggie's publicist suggest that by getting married Reggie and Trick can save each other, it seems like a plan. Until Reggie starts "Kissing Trick"…
This is an interesting story. Two professionals, former best friends, who need to marry to salvage their reputations and careers. I wondered if it would be a "friends with benefits" type of story. I found it to be different than I guessed it might be. I liked Reggie, too bad she made a bad choice under the influence of alcohol and ended up with this dilemma. I didn't care for Trick as much; he is finally starting to grow up and realize that he needs and wants a different lifestyle than the way he has been living but I wasn't impressed with his just now noticing that Reggie is really great and that there is a different kind of relationship potential there. I kept thinking how stupid this man is; Reggie could do better if she wanted to. Maybe I felt this way because I really liked Reggie but obviously the author did an excellent job of making me feel these characters were real for me to have such a strong reaction to each of the main protagonist! I do like how the author resolved these issues and overall loved this story!
