Jolie Antoinette Smith is out of school and indecisive about her life. Her aunt suggests a trip as she gives her graduation money. Jolie leaves for New Orleans hoping to see the plantation her ancestors once owned. Etienne 'Steve' Cameron has purchased the plantation. When Jolie happens upon his land, he is thrilled to show her around the area. In no time, they strike up a friendship, but someone is about to interrupt Jolie's and Steve's plans. Will the two find any connection or is someone destined to keep them apart forever?

Sabrina Lane is trying to live her life as independent as she possibly can after an accident caused her to go blind. Her mother died when she was seven and her father's latest girlfriend, Deborah, is his fiancée. Sabrina worries Deborah will insist her father send her to a rehabilitation home. Sabrina intends on taking care of herself until she falls into the arms of Bay Cameron. Bay believes she hates the world because of her blindness. As they spend time together, romance blossoms, but will Deborah put a wedge between them?

When You Kiss Me is actually two stories in one book, both a delight to read. I enjoyed Jolie and Steve in, 'Something Extra,' and the little comments about her freckles and VW bug. I found the stories like a discovery of one's self between both women. Jolie was trying to discover what she wants to do in life, as well as Sabrina, even through her blindness. Janet Dailey took me on another incredible journey. Ivory Cane with Sabrina and Bay was entertaining. I loved the description of Bay's voice, and enjoyed how he wanted to be there for Sabrina even understanding about her independence. The romance blends in well, in this page-turning pleasurable read.
