First Footer by Jules Jones is New Year’s Eve story. Matthew is on a science fiction writing retreat. His blind date stood him up. Superstition says however you start the year will set the tone for the rest. Starting the year alone is depressing for Matthew. A knock on the door may change Matthew’s fate. As the clock begins to strike midnight, a tall, dark, covered in fur, bright green cat eyes and pointed eared alien enters into Matthews’s life and into his heart. In The Burning Man by Ally Blue, Zach Washington archeologist finds a statue of a Moloch, an ancient Canaanite. In history children were burned alive as sacrifice to Moloch. He takes it to Dr. Jonathan Castille who studies ancient religions. Their investigation takes them on a ghastly journey into a discovery of a still active murderous cult. Will there love get them through it safely. In Wildest Dreams by Emily Veinglory Luke, a werewolf has dreams of hunting and killing other weres. Things have changed from the past the different were-animals are trying to live in peace together. Some people want to return to the time where the predators rule. Luke finds this frightening especially when he finds himself romantically involved with Steve a were-deer. It turns out that someone is killing weres. When Steve is kidnapped it becomes necessary for Luke to discover the truth behind his dreams. A Kiss at Midnight is an anthology of consisting of three paranormal short story romances involving such things as aliens, were-animals, and a killer cult. In First Footer by Jules Jones a superstition is mentioned that states that how year begins will set the tone for the rest of the year. In each story something highly unusual happens around the holiday season bringing three men into relationships where they find love. Each story is highly erotic involving scenes of steamy explicit sex described in graphic detail. First Footer leans highly toward bestiality due to the aliens seeming a lot like big housecats. The facts in each of the stories seemed a little scattered but the storylines are understood. The characters are clearly described and in First Footer are quite colorful. The Burning Man is intense where a killer cult is found to still be in existence. It is a dramatic suspense and I found it the most thrilling of the three. In Wildest Dreams the storyline is understood but the facts are hard to follow at times. First Footer is a little more light-hearted than the other two. These are three very different short stories but with several things in common such as in all the romantic relationships are between two men, they are all explicitly erotic, and all have a paranormal storyline. A Kiss at midnight an anthology by Jules Jones, Ally Blue and Emily Veinglory tell three short steamy paranormal sex-filled stories of suspense, intrigue but most of all passion.
