| What an exciting conclusion to the trilogy about three “sisters” who found each other as adults. Ms. Christie Ridgway never fails to live up to her readers’ expectations. She tells a story while intertwining the important facts from the prior books. That means that each book can stand alone, but I wouldn’t recommend it.
Cassandra was about to turn thirty. One of her sisters (Juliet) was on her honeymoon and the other (Nikki) was preparing for her wedding. Cassandra was not part of any couple. She thought she was accustomed to being alone, but she knew she just wanted a family of her own. She owned a knitting shop, Malibu and Ewe, in downtown Malibu. Her biggest responsibility seemingly was rescuing her neighbor and landlord every time he tried to self-destruct. Gabe Kincaid was a responsible adult, land and business owner, about half the time. The rest of his life was on a self-destruction path. The local bartender would call Cassandra when he showed up, whether hours or days later, and she would bring him to his home next door to her. The chemistry was electric between them, but Gabe had lost his wife and young daughter in a drunk-driving accident and he refused to allow himself to live again. Ridgway has created two amazing adults who each had myriad of problems. They were close friends but each denied any further involvement. The supporting cast had comical as well as emotional support for the two. The storyline is packed with spellbinding information which made the book impossible to put down. There were some definite subtle surprises in the book that answered some of the important questions. I was so pleased that a couple situations which concerned me were finally answered. I will advise that you have to look for them. How wonderfully Ms. Ridgway completes this work of art. I highly recommend you read this book. She has long been on my “must buy” list and she will quickly become a favorite of yours.
