Veronica Baldwin comes from a long line of woman who chose prostitution as a way of life. She promised her mother she wouldn't do the same thing but circumstances got in her way. It was the only way of life she knew. But now Veronica, or "V" to her girls, has a mission. She's doing everything she can to rescue women from a life on the streets. When she crosses the wrong people in rescuing a girl from their clutches life turns dangerous. She may have to rely on the help of the FBI to save her friends and take down some vicious men who make a living by trading in sex slaves.

Emily Lear pens a unique suspense with some unlikely heroines the reader will probably come to adore. Adore, even admire and respect a bunch of hookers? These girls are nothing like we expect them to be. As they tell their stories we can't help but be drawn to them. Courage under extreme hardship seems to be have become their way of life. Working as real estate agents they've devised a unique system to weed our renters and buyers from the 'johns' seeking their other services.

FBI agents Holland Rose and Jake Bailey are as interesting in their own ways as are the girls. They have to bend the rules a bit to try to catch the bad guys. The villains are nasty business. It seems almost impossible that a couple of agents and a bunch of hookers can take them down.

In telling this tale Ms. Lear will make you laugh out loud and, perhaps, shed a few tears. This is a great read throughout.
