Harmony Simmons was forced to travel from their ranch in America to England. Her parents had died and left her guardianship with her older sister, Agatha. She had moved to live in England with her grandmother while Harmony had been raised on a ranch out West. Living with the sister who had always disliked her was going to be hard. She had three years to be under her rule. Harmony had no way to know how very hard it would be. The first thing that happened on their travel from the ship to Agatha’s dingy home was they were robbed. Harmony was not afraid of his gun—she could shoot as well as anyone.

Anthony Allen, Lord Farmington, wasn’t who he claimed to be. He found Harmony’s ring that had been taken in the robbery. She recognized him as the thief. Her confusion continued throughout the book. He couldn’t tell her exactly who he was or where he lived because he wanted to be sure she loved him for himself, not for what he had. This duplicity caused myriad problems which could have been tragic.

Ms. Helen A. Rosburg has done a fabulous job writing this spellbinding story. I literally could not put it down. The characters were strong and willful. However, throughout the entire book Anthony was much like a chameleon. Rosburg maintained a basic plot that was enhanced by the traits she assigned to Anthony. I particularly admired the way she showed the female lead as a strong, capable woman although her insecurities were obvious at times.

The supporting characters were written well. They were all believable—both those to like and those that were hated. The sensuality of the book was beautifully penned and the love of our main couple was emotional throughout. The conclusion of the book was such a shock that I was amazed! Throughout part of the storyline, I couldn’t imagine a “happily-ever-after” ending.

I highly recommend this book. It’s great. It is definitely a winner.
