| Comstocke Locke is a private investigator who specializes in catching people who cheat the casinos. Lyda Morse isn't looking for a man in her life, she's along on a Caribbean cruise with her great aunt Detra as her bridge partner. A chance meeting that throws the two together seems to change both of their plans. After someone tries to throw Lyda overboard Comstocke gets even more sidetracked from his pursuit of the thief.
Jane Toombs has been a favorite for a long time. This book is another spellbinding example of work from an author who seems to be able to write well no matter what the subject matter. The romance has its ups and downs for both Lyda and her aunt when suspicion is thrown on both Comstocke and Benedict, Detra‘s new beau. Characters are well developed and fun to get to know. There's enough suspense to keep us guessing as Ms. Toombs weaves the magic and intrigue between two couples. This is a great bit of writing that helps us take the cruise and tour the Bahamas for free along with the paying passengers.
