After praying for an angel Alexander MacKenna is shocked when during a mock battle one appears out of the mist. He rescues her from his opponent but soon realizes that after wandering away from the rest of her tour group Melissa believes she has stepped back in time. Alex has never been drawn to a woman like this before so instead of correcting the beautiful American he convinces his six brothers to play along with his charade. Now that the battle is on the current Laird of the Game knows he will forfeit if he leaves and nothing will stop him from following his lovely angel if she finds out the truth and leaves him.

I really wanted to love this story. As soon as I read the blurb I was so excited by the premise and could not wait to read it. However; I'm sorry to say I found the over all story unpolished. The only reason I kept reading was to see how stupid the heroine would feel when she finally learned the truth. Melissa was a disappointing heroine and Alex only had the possibility of being a truly magnificent alpha-male hero. I did enjoy a few chuckles at the antics of some of the characters and I adored the fact that when she complained of hairy legs he told her he liked her just the way she was. I was charmed by the brothers in this story but what's with the constantly trying to kiss the woman their brother is in love with? If the brothers' had as tight a bond as the author kept stating why would the do this? The structure seemed disjointed and the story flow and character development needed a lot of work. My biggest pet peeve was that the author seemed to "tell" a lot but not "show". This book did not live up to the potential it had.
