Aromatherapist Kate Alexandra has an irate man standing on her doorstep, banging on her door, ignoring her "At Work" signs. Unable to figure out just why this man, at first glance, seems to have a major problem, she finds her hormones jumping at the sight of him. Then she listens as the rest of the story unfolds and that certainly puts a serious damper on her initial lust. Someone has given a very nasty story to the newspapers and scandal is the talk of the day. Lane Gerrard, hard working rugby star, gorgeous, and honest, finds himself and his family in a spotlight not of his making. Normal publicity would be good for a man in his field but shocking news is not often so great and he finds himself smack in the middle along with a 9 year old boy reputed to be his son.

Lane and Kate attempt to unravel the puzzle of Jamie's parentage, meeting old friends and trying to recreate the life of Kate's sister from 10 years past. But even dealing with stalkers, vandalism, and near murder still won't prevent them from falling in love along the way. This is a wonderful story with warm, caring central characters, suspense with a distinct twist and a little boy who learns to accept something he'd not been quite ready to face.
