Emerald La Roe likes to keep her personal life personal. She was cursed the night her husband died to live eternally. All she wanted to do was flee but with each time the Goddess Morriagan continued to pay her a visit. Now she is faced with a magical sword and the return of her dead husband who wishes to get back with her. She wants no part of him since she holds feelings for another. Itching to find a cure, she sets out on a search to unlock the mystery. Max Howard heads up investigations and she enlists his help. Of course Emerald had no way knowing that the Goddess Morriagan had a path planned that would lead her to her destiny in life. Emerald cares deeply for Maxwell who already has his own curse as a werewolf. Maxwell has always loved Emerald and he intents to show her how he feels in hopes that she, too, will fall in love with him. But with each passing day they search for answers, secrets are still locked and until they can reveal the truth behind the secrets their life will never be whole. When Emerald learns she must lose her hate for her husband and share his bed again for the cure to work, it is a tough decision that she does not know she can accept.

La Roe is an entertaining romance that spins with great creativity. I love the magical swords as well as the other additions to the story. The characters of Emerald and Maxwell transcend believability throughout the story. The telling of the story captures many emotions and keeps the readers interest. Dee Owens pens a fascinating read that is a complete page-turner. With a twist of sizzling delight she gives the audience a story that is enchanting as she takes them on an adventure at every turn of the page. Mystifying, magical and an all around fun read.
